Helig promoted to Resource Officer
For a number of reasons, not least of which is his helpfulness and involvement with the corporation and other members, I've promoted Helig to the role of Resource Officer, although he doesn't know this at the time of this posting. In this role, he will be able to help manage refining and production for the corporation and for corporation members, a role also shared by Nyakamao.

Due to his high standing with the the Federation Navy and high refining skills, Helig is able to refine ore and other materials with almost zero loss and with zero tax at Federation Navy stations. This is the reason we opened up an office in Eglennaert and placed containers in the mining hangar for each corporation member.

If you need ore or materials refined and are not in a hurry, you can place those minerals in your station container, and Helig will refine them and place the refined minerals back in the container for you. The purpose in doing this is to maximize your profits from mining, looting, and salvaging since selling the refined minerals is almost always more profitable than selling the raw materials on the market.

I want to thank Helig for being so helpful and involved with the corporation, and also would like to thank him for his offer to refine for the corporation in order to help our other members, especially those with young characters. I greatly, greatly appreciate all that he has been doing for the corporation, as I do everyone else's assistance and generosity.

More Lag Testing
CCP is doing another lag test this week, according to the forums:

Howdy Folks,

Our test last week yielded some really great data, but not enough to fully isolate the issue. Since we got such great results last time, we're running another test this week to further drill into the problem in hopes of getting a fix out as soon as possible. This test is run on Singularity so that we can avoid having to bog down TQ with all the debugging that we need to run during this test; basically, we don't want to make the problem any worse than it already is.

The next test will be held Thursday, February 4 at 4pm UTC. They are expected to last for about 1 hour. We need at least 200 pilots, preferably 400+… the more people who show up, the better.

Patching the patch
Eve Dominion 1.1.1 deployment
Just saw this when logging back into the game.

EVE Online: Dominion 1.1.1 will be deployed this Thursday, January 28, 2010.

The deployment process will begin at 10:00 UTC and is expected to be completed at 10:40 UTC. Patch notes are available for review

The patch notes are posted after the jump, but in general it looks like a minor patch that shouldn't cause any more headaches than before. I'm not sure if the server stability problems have been fixed yet or not, but I haven't been online when it's crashed in a few days so hopefully we're beyond that now :)
